Fees and Payment Options
This page explains how fees are structured within the Dentistry for Nervous Patients service and outlines the payment options available.
Dental treatment for nervous patients is often individualised. For this reason, fees are discussed clearly following proper clinical assessment and treatment planning.
Consultation fees

A clinical consultation with Dr Frances Carling-Thom is a paid appointment.

- Treatment planning
- Assessment of suitability for IV sedation, where appropriate
A clinical consultation is required before any dental treatment or sedation can be planned.

A free consultation is available with a care coordinator.
This appointment is:
- Non-clinical

No treatment or sedation assessment is carried out during this appointment.
Treatment fees
Fees for dental treatment vary depending on:
- The type of treatment required
- The complexity of care
- Whether IV sedation is involved
- The number of appointments needed
Following your clinical consultation, treatment options and associated costs are explained clearly before any treatment is scheduled.
A staged approach to treatment
In many cases, dental treatment is best delivered in stages, both clinically and financially.
This may involve:
- Urgent treatment carried out first, where required
- Stabilisation treatment planned at a later stage
- Additional or cosmetic treatment timed when the patient feels ready to proceed
Staging treatment allows care to be prioritised appropriately and may help patients manage treatment over time. Often once patients attend and are comfortable they usually like to have all the treatment completed that is recommended in one go.
Payment options
Several payment options are available to allow flexibility.
Pay-as-you-go
Patients may choose to pay for treatment as it is carried out, particularly when treatment is staged.
Finance plans
Extended payment plans may be available, subject to approval.
Finance options allow treatment costs to be spread over a longer period. Details are provided during consultation where relevant.
